In the st century, more than years after the promulgation of the Constitution, constitutional norms are still frequently violated in our country. This disregard for the laws seems to be almost a cultural trait in Brazil, but it is inconceivable when non-compliance comes from bodies that should set an example. I am referring to the Courts of Auditors (TCs) and the obligation to have the Public Ministry of Accounts (MPC) in their structure.
Until , many TCs worked with members “borrowed” from state MPs. Until, in August of that year, the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) forced the courts to create, within a period of up to a year and a half, laws establishing internal careers in bodies, with the holding of public competitions.
